What Jesus Said About Love #2

"By this, all men will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another. "John 13:35 NA SB

Our love for our brothers and sisters in Christ is of special significance. It is supposed to be so different to the world's love that everyone who sees it will know that we are Christ's disciples.

Jesus spoke of loving our neighbour, teaching us to treat others how we would want to be treated. However, there is another dimension of love for those who are our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The love that exists between our Heavenly Father and his son, our Lord

Jesus Christ is to be known and shared amongst the rest of his family: our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Jesus prayed, "that they may know you have loved them

even as you have loved me." The love of God for His children and between his children is to be so outstanding that "the world" will see it and know that we are special and have something unique. (John 17: 231

Jesus was not being flippant when he said, "Who is my mother and who

are my brothers? Whoever does the will of God are my brother, sister and mother." (Matt 12:46-50)

Our brothers and sisters in Christ are our brothers and sisters in our

Heavenly Father's family. The love of God is to be in such great manifestation amongst us that the world will look on in wonder, wanting to share in what we have.
