Our Covenant Keeping God

One of the main reasons that we can trust in God is because He is a God who keeps His covenant. Covenant is not a common word that we use in our culture, but it is a powerful truth found in the Bible, from beginning to end.

God made a promise to mankind that at the right time, He would send a Saviour, Jesus! And because He is a covenant-keeping God, Jesus came!

There are promises that God has made in His Word available to anyone who would believe in what He has said. If God said it, we can build our lives on His Word. He is a faithful God! What God says and what He does match.

As Born Again believers, our covenant is summed up in Hebrews 8:8-12,

“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbour, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

We have a covenant with God, and it is a covenant that we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. It is the covenant that we belong in His family. It is the covenant of blessing, peace, health, provision, and life! We can call God our Father because He is our God. We can live this life knowing that God is not mad at us. He is not in heaven frowning at us because we messed up.

This covenant is based upon the blood of Jesus, God sees us as His sons and daughters, and He is well pleased with us.

Let’s declare today that “I am a child of the Most High God, I am redeemed, I have been made righteous, and because of the blood of Jesus, I qualify for the promises of God to operate in my life!”

God loves you, and He is covenant of peace will not be removed from you. (Isaiah 54:10)
