Behold the manner of love!

1 John 3:1 

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Behold, the heart of our Heavenly Father, His love toward you, that He has called you His child. 

It's no wonder we don't fit into this world's system and ideas. Our identity is from God, the Creator Himself. 

We are not our past. 

We are not what others say about us. 

We are not our feelings. 

We are not what has been to us. 

We are not what the devil accuses us to be. 

We are what God says we are! We became a brand new creation when we received Jesus as Lord of our lives! (1 Corinthians 5:17) We have to be introduced to our brand-new selves through the Word of God. 

When the prodigal son returned to his father, his father immediately restored him to his rightful place. All the hurts of the past, the rejection, and the pain no longer comprised the identity of the prodigal son; his true identity was restored to him. It's the same with us; when we gave our heart to God, He restored us to sonship and all the rights that come with place. 

That is God's heart towards us. He's not ashamed to call us His children! 

Let this verse in 1 John 3:1 become a reality in your life, "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!"
