CV-19 Policy
Redeemer Coast CV19 Draft Policy
Redeemer Coast has taken considered medical opinion from experienced medical professionals and formulated these policies and procedures following the advice from them and all relevant government bodies.
Redeemer Coast notes that:
Our public meeting numbers fall within the federal and state government guidelines. Our facilities are extremely well ventilated, more akin to an outdoor area, and our person to sqm ratio is well above government minimum by a factor of at least 400%.
Over and above prescribed requirements Redeemer Coast will:
Provide and ensure that everyone entering our public meetings are provided with sanitiser and strongly advised to use it.
Any surface likely to be in contact with hands will be spray sanitised.
Our traditional handshake and hug will be replaced with a wave and a smile.
Other personal hygiene measures such as personal tissues will be provided.
The maintenance of safe personal space will be recommended.
Redeemer Coast appreciates that:
Some churches, in good conscience, have taken measures well beyond ours by closing down all public meetings.
We have closely considered the reasons they have given and while we appreciate the validity of most of their reasons, we consider that being so-far beyond the relevant government recommendations is likely to be moot, given that in the vast majority of day to day activities other conditions apply.
We also consider there is additional benefit to our church family and community in modelling sustainable practices.
We also consider the net affect of ill-informed, ill-considered or socially and economic destructive practices is likely to be negative.
We appreciate that other churches may, in good conscience, have opinions. We’d rather not get involved in implied criticism of them. We don’t see that it is our role to judge them- but in good conscience to willingly abide by government requirements, given that the government is instituted by God concerning these matters. (Romans 13:1-2)
