First Principles of the Kingdom of God part 7: The Ministry of the Spirit
Romans 8:16-17 "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ..."
Part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to remind us of who we are in Christ.
Many people live their lives under a cloud of guilt and same. They identify with their past and view themselves as a sinner.
But that's not what God says about us, and that's not the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Colossians 1:15-18 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”
A kingdom is a place where a king has dominion and reigns. It’s where his will and purposes are done. The Kingdom of God is where God’s purposes and will are accomplished. Jesus prayed, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10). Jesus prayed that the Father’s purposes in heaven would be fulfilled on the earth. There are principles in which the Kingdom of God operates that we need to learn so we can function properly as sons and daughters of the Most High God.
