We Love Because He First Loved Us
God's love is not human love. Natural human love often fulfils the need of the person issuing the 'love'. For example, people are sometimes friendly to others to win their affection and appreciation.
God's love is not like natural love. God doesn't love us to fill a void in His life. Instead, the needs of others move God's love.
How can we, as humans, live in God's love?
We're able to live in the love of God when we have found His love to be sufficient in our life.
The Apostle John wrote, "love is from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God", "this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son for our sin", and "we love because He first loved us!" (1 John 4: 7, 10, 19)
The love that Christians have is the love of God, which comes from him (Romans 5:5) . God's love in us is his nature dwelling in us.
