Seek and Set

Colossians 3:1-2

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

The way we see ourselves and what we allow to define our identity will determine the outcome and direction of our life. We are Born Again Believers, have been recreated in the exact likeness as Jesus! We have been raised with Christ and given a new spiritual identity, with a God-given authority to rule and reign on this earth just like Jesus. 

It is our choice to decide what we are going to seek after and what we are going to set our minds to. 

We can either identify with what has happened to us, what people have said about us, or the way we were raised; or we can choose to identify with our new spiritual identity that Jesus won for us at the cross and resurrection. When we choose to seek the things that are above and set our minds on what God has said about us, we will begin to act like who God has already created us to be. 

Everything Jesus is right now, seated at the right hand of the Father, we are too! The Bible says in 1 John 4:17, “As He is, so are we in this world.”

I encourage you this week to choose to set your mind on what God has said about you. Allow His Word to show you who you really are!
