Seek after God's Best!

The things that God has for each one of us are far greater, more rewarding and fulfilling than anything that this world can offer us. God has a plan for your life, and His plan is far over and above all that you could ask or think. 

Walking in God’s plan for our lives doesn’t happen automatically; it is something that we must seek after and hunger for. The Bible says in Colossians 3:1-2, “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”

There are things in this life that are good, but sometimes those good things can distract us from God’s best! It requires wisdom and discernment to know what is God’s best. Praise God that He has given us the Holy Spirit and wisdom so that we would know what is worthy of our time and attention. When we choose to seek the things that are above, we are deliberately making a choice to hunger after and search for God’s wisdom. 

God promises us that when we seek, we will find; when we knock, the door will be opened; and when we ask, we will receive. (Matthew 7:7-8)

What would it look like in your life to seek the things of God? It may require you to wake up earlier in the morning to spend time with Him or choose to put the phone down and fill your life with God’s Word; it may require you to say “no” to certain activities and come to church and Bible studies. When we choose to seek God and His way of doing things, that is when we will find fulfilment and satisfaction that can only be found in God.
