Hear and be Healed
Luke 6:18 “They had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases, and those troubled by evil spirits were healed.”
What we hear and how we hear is vital when it comes to receiving healing.
Notice how, in the Gospel of Luke, he says that the people came to hear and be healed of their diseases. Hearing came first. It is in the hearing where faith is built, and the way we see ourselves begins to change based on what we hear.
It is a simple decision to choose to incline our ears to the Word of God, however, so often the voice of our flesh will jump up and distractions will come our way. It takes discipline to hear the Word of God and pay attention to what we are hearing. Jesus said, “Pay attention, therefore, how you hear. Whoever has more will be given, whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.” (Luke 8:18)
It’s not only about what we are listening to but how we are listening. We decide how much we honour and give place to God’s Word.
We want to be a church where we hunger for God’s Word and desire understanding. The hungry heart is a heart that is attentive to His Word, a heart that puts God’s Word first and is determined to act on what God’s Word says.
As the Word of God begins to take shape and transform our way of thinking, we’ll notice that we will start to see ourselves in line with the Word. We’ll experience the promises of God operating in our lives because His Word is at work in us and in our circumstances.
Proverbs 4:20-22
"My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh."
Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.
Blessings,
