Humility is honoured in God’s Kingdom

1 Peter 5:5-7 “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

The way God’s kingdom functions and the world operates are very different. In order to get ahead and promoted in this world, people have to cheat, lie, and step on and over others to achieve their dreams. They are driven by pride and compare their success to the standards of those around them.

However, in God’s Kingdom, the humble are those whom God can exalt and lift up.

Humility is not a word many people like to use, yet, in Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus says He is humble and meek. Out of all the things that our Lord and Master could say that He is, He chose the word “humble.”

Humility is not belittling yourself or acting shy. A humble person knows who they are in Christ and knows that God is their source of ability, strength, opportunity, and supply.

A humble person is one who obeys the leading of the Spirit no matter the cost, and is willing to submit their will to the plan of God. Following the example of Jesus, Jesus said in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Nevertheless, not My will but Your will be done.” (Luke 22:42)

Jesus humbled Himself under the Father’s will so that the plans and purposes of the Kingdom of God could come to pass. As a result of Jesus’ humility, Salvation has appeared to all men! (Titus 2:11)

Philippians 2:8-11 says, And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Jesus humbled Himself by becoming obedient, and because He humbled Himself, God also HIGHLY EXALTED Him!

Jesus is Lord! He Lord over all creation! He went from dying the worst possible death, going to hell for us, and then being raised to the highest position under the Father, bestowed on Him by God. His position is eternal.

God delights in humility because it allows Him to work in us and exalt us when we are ready. Unlike the worlds system, when God exalts us, it is stable and secure.

I encourage you to meditate on these Scriputres in this article and allow the Lord to teach you what true humility is. There is no better security than knowing God is the one who lifted you up to the place He needs you to be.

Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.

Blessings,

Chloe
