I Am the Bread of Life

John 6:35: “Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.”

There is a hunger within each person that can only be satisfied by a true and genuine relationship with Jesus. Those who refuse to believe in Jesus live in a state of hunger and thirst that they try to satisfy with other things that the world has to offer. Only in and through Jesus can a person truly be satisfied. It’s in Jesus where we find our Saviour, our Redeemer, and our Provider. In Jesus is how we discover who we are, what we have, and what we can do.

When Jesus declared that He is the bread of life, He proclaimed that He is the One who sustains, nourishes, strengthens, and fills us. Similar to how natural food fills our bodies, Jesus fills our spiritual lives, which overflows into our souls (minds and emotions) and our physical bodies.

He gave us the invitation to come to Him and feed on Him, feed on His Word, and allow His very life to impact our spirit, soul and body. When we take time to feed on His Word and spend time in worship and communion with God, we are feeding on The Bread of Life Himself.

Colossians 3:16 shows us how we can partake of the Life of God: “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

Firstly, we let the anointed Word of God dwell in us and sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness to the Lord.

When difficult times come, we can act upon this Scripture and, feed on God’s Word and sing praises to our wonderful and magnificent God! You’ll be amazed at how quickly the life of God that is within you will give life to your soul and body.
