I Am the Resurrection
John 11:25-26 “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?””
Jesus is the resurrection and the life! He doesn’t just have life, He is life. Anyone who believes in Him shall live. This resurrection power that Jesus talks about is not just referring to eternal life when we get to heaven, it is also talking about right now on this earth.
Romans 8:11 says, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us, right now, even while we are here on this earth. Paul prayed in Philippians 3:10, “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection…” Paul was in prison when he said this! He was definitely in need of some resurrection power!
This resurrection power can take horrible, disastrous, evil situations and turn them into a victory report and testimony to the glory of God! When Lazarus was dead for four days, he, too, needed some resurrection power. There, Jesus came walking towards that village, ready to impart His very nature into that situation. That situation turned from death into life!
We don’t have to beg God to give us power. His power is already inside of us, ready to be activated; it is our responsibility to stir it up! One of the best ways we can do that is through speaking His Word. We can wake up saying, “The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me! His power is at work in me! His power is at work in my situation.”
God already equipped us with everything we need to walk in victory in this life. His power is in you and me. Let’s stir it up by believing in who Jesus is and declaring that power over ourselves, our family, and our situation.
All our situation needs is some resurrection power!
