I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
God, the Father, has made it so simple for us to come to Him. His desire for fellowship with us shines through the heart of Jesus. Jesus came to reveal the heart of the Father to us. He demonstrated the Father's heart through His words, His actions, how He healed people, showed mercy, and showed us the truth. In John chapter one, John says, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." (verse 14)
Jesus was full of grace and truth. When you encountered Jesus, you encountered grace, and when you encountered Jesus, you encountered truth.
When Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life," He was communicating to us that there is no other way, no other truth, no other life source. He Himself is everything we need to go to the Father.
How wonderfully simple it is! The world and religion complicate things. They talk about their truth and your truth, their experiences, and the reasons why their "truth" is valid for them. But the beauty of the Gospel is how simple it is. It is open and available to all who would believe, but it's only through Jesus that we know the way to the Father.
He showed us the way to the Father in that He died for our sins. Through His sacrifice, we receive forgiveness and forgiveness of sins. We can come boldly to the Father, completely made clean and holy because of Jesus.
He showed us the truth because He does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Words of the Father before time began are still true today. They did not change regardless of culture or circumstances; He remains the same. (Hebrews 13:8)
He showed us what life truly is. Eternal life is about knowing the Father and the Son whom He has sent (John 17:3). Lifedoes not consist of having earthly possessions; it consists of fellowship with the Creator, knowing how He thinks, knowing His will, and fulfilling His works on the earth. That is what eternal life is.
I encourage you to meditate on these three aspects of who Jesus is this week: He is the way, the truth, and the life. As we meditate on those things, the stress and cares of life begin to fade away because we know we are safe in Him.
Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.
Blessings,
Chloe
